944 Steering rack... anyone using one?
Hi all,
Im part way through converting my pan to use all 1988 944 turbo suspension. Part of the conversion is a rack an pinion conversion. I have purchased a manual steering rack from a 924 which should be compatible, but this has me thinking about power steering and 944 racks. Is anyone using a 944 rack? If so what kind and from what year? It occurred to me that it is possible to retain the power steering capabilities of a late model 944 rack by using an electric power steering pump from a honda. They arent that expensive... Any thoughts? Cheers, Ian |

I think it might well be overkill so I will see how the 924 rack goes with turning the 18x8's. I can always easily convert to a 944 power steering rack if its too much of a bitch to drive as they are the same size as a 924 rack.
