Wtf???
I just got off the phone. I was talking to the porsche centre in Guilford UK parts department and thats what i found out:
trailing arm bearing 35.56 GBP each hub 523.20 GBP each cv 56.20 GBP each the prices are based on my 944t trailing arms from a 1988.5 944t bearing and cv prices are ok. I can deal with the price, but the hubs are f@%^@^&!&!!@&$%^@!#ing expensive. there is no way im willing to pay 1046.40 GBP or euros or USD for the hubs. This is outrageous so does anybody know a good place that i could buy the hubs from? prefered in the uk or europe thanx, Chris

if you are converting from beetle rear brakes to 944. then the bearings are the same. you can use your bug CV's and, the bug stub axles too. the only different thing is the grease seal on the outer bearing retainer.

the prob is that i wont be using 944 brakes at all. i got 996 rotor all around with 930 finned calipers all around. and i got the stub axles for these arms as well. i dont mind at all paying for new CVs and bearings. but now im thinking over again, i ll have to measure every thing ie rotors before i buy anything else cos i need a parking brake

Hi
I bought the bearings from Pelican parts in the US for $48USD, the local Porsche shop wanted $135AU each for them and a bearing supply place wanted $220AU each. I got CVs, boot, boot clips and clip tool sent to me with postage for $196AU. I would recommend anyone to use Pelican parts, very good service Why do you need a hub? I’ve heard that they are expensive, I think sway a way do them but they take a 930 CV CVs, aren’t they Kombi style CVs? Steve

Hi
English is a funny language, I suppose the stub axle is the thing with splines on it and the hub has the wheel nut studs in it. With the Kombi CVs, you can counter bore them so that they fit on the shaft, its OK if they slop a little in and out. Steve
