Dhla are side draft, down draft are DRLA, there are generally only 3 emulsion tube types for DRLA, common most are 9164 .1 .2 or.3, the .1 is common to Alphas, the .2 for VW, .3 I've seen only rarely And is supposedly a mid range tube, say for off road use, DHLA have more tubes available, and I recon would ultimately find more power on VW motors, obviously, packaging is a problem but it could be done for a race car, the Formula Vee champion this year was a side drought motor. I've not come accross any VW motor that a .2 tube didn't work we'll, 1600cc up to 2.5, with max RPM Ranging from 5.500, up to 7,500.
Regards, Spanner.

Good morning, yes ours is the 9164.2. Ok, that float setting is very temperamental, spec's state 5-6 mm closed and 12mm drop. So it's back to the drawing board. I'll set the fuel pressure to 2.5
