Arrow Do you regularly check the "Wanted" forum?

I have a thoery that, in general, the separate Wanted forum on any site is the least active. I was just wondering how often you check it, whether you have something to sell or not. It seems most people who are willing to sell, will llst it in "for sale" and never check the wanted to see if anyone matches. That's good that we aren't a bunch of losers who are just here to sell stuff and have no real technical input (I'm still learning, so I have an excuse for the lack of answers  ), but I'm just curious as to the possibilty of combining the FS and WTB.

I always use the 'view new posts' option. So when there is a new post in there, I will see it.

Rob.

Your right, it is a some what "non active" thread. I do check it every now and again, normaly if i see there is somthing "new" or if somthing was posted recently i will wonder on in there, but i dont visit it to offten.

The "for sale" thread is another story, perhaps it should be combined, yet filtered out in a way that you know if some one is selling or wanting.

I think if the two were combined, it would be less time consuming to find buyer/seller matches. I have started to add "WTB" or "FS" to the start of the topic title even if the category is exclusive. A combined section shoul require the prefix for all posts IMO.

I do like the idea of a "combo" thread (Mmmm, Combo pizza...), it would make it easier perhaps. then again, it could just be more of a hassle since you would have to weed out the "For sale" and "Wanted" adds, but that might not be an issue if you could clearly see what that item is doing... and usualy somthings catches your eye or you know what your looking for so it might not be a big deal.

Any others have an opinion?

Later
Jonathan

I, too, look at the new posts. Sometimes the Subject line says all that needs to be said as to whether I can point someone in the right direction or not. In those cases, that thread doesn't get tallied as "a view" by me. This is one way a viewed-by-how-many subtotal can get skewed.
