I'm running 205/50R17 on my 1303 cab, but I think most people run 205/40. I wanted longer overall gearing and a bit more comfort for use 4 up, it's the standard size used on the front of a lot of Porsches.. The other bonus for me is that it will also match the Subaru rolling diameter for the instrument cluster I'm using.

205/40 on the 7's, and 234/45 (A little euro-stretch) on the 9's.
On my Super with 17x7's (Tune rims, not P-car) all around, I'm running 205/50's. Lanner |

thanks guys
looks like the 205/40s all round although these are millie miglias and are 17 x 7.5 so will the 205s still be ok being 1/2" wider wheel also i have 23et for rear (was told these bolt on) and 52et for front(need a 10mm spacer) would this be correct? thanks |

215/40 and 215/45 on 7.5et52mm under Day Mouldings. Probably the absolute limit, the front is tight with a wheel alignment for cornering such as 2deg -ve camber. Inner sidewall is ~4mm from a 80mm coil, maybe less at the wing.
The rear (also et52mm) is just as tight when the wheel is close to verticle, about 0.75deg -ve. 944 steel arms rear and 951 stubs at the front. No spacers or apapters. A wheel this size with et23mm on a stock rear drum will be just as tight, the 205/40 'should' make it easier. BEWARE! Tyre shoulder sizes are not all the same shape and size for a given tyre size, It depends on the make, more on the original application. I went from 225/45 F1's on the rear as I had to run ~1.5deg -ve camber, I borrowed a pair of 215/45 Pirelli's (P-zero, I think..) clearance was perfect, So I bought my 215/40 F1's and it was tight again ~6mm difference at the wheel arch. I'm using 215/40/17 frt and 225/45/17 rear on 7.5" wide cups. Kuhmo estca 712 (not sure if they still make 'em though) fits just perfect in the rear with stock fenders and susp. (trailing arms, etc.). Front has about 3/16" - 1/4" clearance to the max spring assy. running a 3/8" spacer.
