Smile Aussie 1303 project

Its about time I put up some pictures of my project.

Paint is still to come, but most of the mechanical work has been done. Engine will remain fairly stock for now. The mechanical work has been done by V-force Racing in Sydney Australia, who have done a fantastic job. See them at www.beetleracing.com

Some of the work so far includes:
New front Vforce struts with porsche 5 stud pattern Rear disc brake
conversion and porsche 5-stud pattern Front Poly bushing kit Steering
damper Reconditioned steering box Torsion bars Rear bushings and bump
stops
2 x rear KYB Gas monotube shocks
New brake master cylinder
New gear shift coupler and bushes
New engine mounts
New gearbox mounts
New muffler/exhaust
Replace floor pan on drivers side due rust Install Honda Prelude seats
New guards all round New front and rear bumpers

Oh yeah, that one we outbid you on (teeheehee )

Yes we have obtained a 1303S badge to replace the Australian "Volkswagen L" badge that was originally on the cars

Getting ready for paint, inspecting rust etc.... looking forward to having a nicely painted bug
You can see the struts installed more easily in these photos... old wheels on for painting so new ones dont get damaged.

Well the forum crash deleted my account, so now apparently 'volksman' made this thread :P But I have re-made my account and will post some new pictures soon All the rust repairs are finished which is fantastic news

Well the paint is on )) so hopefully it wont be too much longer until we're back on the road...












It was hard to get an accurate picture of the colour as basil is inside... so hopefully when I get him home I can take some better ones.
