ultimate 2ltr type4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

running a 71x96 motor with stock rods and arp bolts(rods and case)a web 86c on type1 stly lifters(48grm)10.5/1 crwelded and ported 44x38 heads with double springs and titanium retianers, pistoins are j&e carbs are 48idf's with 40mm chokes, home built matched lenght header,3 stage dry sump pump, porsche cooling.
think it's making about 165bhp(flywheel)@ about 6800rpm,can feel it go off after this.makes power from 3800rpm.
can i get any more? think i'm at about the limt for this engine, dont want to go any bigger becuase i will go up a class and unless i can get over 300 bhp not worth doing.
this engine is in a 1303 hill climb car ,about 750kg,and on slicks.full race car.engine has had a few years devolpment into it and is very reliable.
cheers rob

yes you can get more, in france f.L from car concept managed to pull out 184hp out of a 71x94 ( 1971cc ) and E.D from remmele got out 200hp out of a 1971cc.

hightest range power was between 4500/7800rpm. these engines were affected to racetrack vw, in the french vw cup challenge and the divinol cup challenge.

well looks like i have a task in front of me.it's possable so just have to find it,going to make up a few header variations and try on the dyno at the end of the month, also going to duct cold air to the air filters.closed box onver the filters fed from naca ducts in the rear 1/4.
cheers rob
