Is this even possible ?? 914 to SA conversion

Hi to all,
I hear there are no stupid questions, so here goes.
Does any one know if it`s at all possible to convert the 914 trans and make it swing axle as opposed to IRS??
You may be thinking why? Well my bug is 1964 swing axle and I am not wanting to use wider fenders, am going to be using 944/924S rear brakes. That alone moves the wheel out towards the fender by about 25mm. And further more I am wanting to run my carrera fuchs 16 x7 in the rear ET23. I am thinking that with a 205/55 tire they may barely fit. Should get a tire mounted try a test fit this weekend. So going IRS isn`t an option for me,.........not right now.
Was thinking that the diff might be similar to the VW ,and might be able to swap out.

You also think go with the Berg kit, but if I go Type 4 in a bug I need to buy a new fly wheel etc. And I would think the porsche case are a little stronger? No?
Thanks to all.
