front spoiler

Hi I have been meaning to post a build of my car for ages but just have never got round to it .Mianly as the cars not finished but I suppose they never are. Anyway here are some pics I have been asked by another GL user about my front spoiler it is from a rover and its been slightly modified.I thought it suited the round lines of the 1303 I hope you agree.

Great looking car and spoiler. Is it from a Rover 220?

Do you have a picture that shows the spoiler more clearly? Like the one in you avatar.

Could you get a few more shots at different angles? Abit on the dark side.
Love those Porsche 18' rims.

Here ya go thanks for the kind comments Spoiler was grabbed from a pile of front bumpers at a Jap breakers yard.I offered them up to the front of the car one by one, and this seemed just right.I have been trying to find out what Jap car it was off and recently found out it's actually off a Rover 400.

Wow !

That front bumper/spoiler really does look good. Where did the sideview mirrors come from?

Congrats on a fantastic looking beetle.

Wow that is nice! Those rims fit the car very well. Maybe a set of fog lights for the bumper?

Hi thanks again for the kind words it means a lot coming from you as well Sandeep your ride was one of the first to inspire me when I discovered this site many moons ago.The mirrors wher found by the guy that painted the car but if you look close they are different sizes,he said thats how they are ? not sure about that but i want to change them as they bounce around all over the place and you cant see much.

I chose these wheels for their simple clean lines.Plus as i thought they are easy to clean, and as an added bonus I can give the calipers a quick wipe over without removing them. I have only ever seen them on one other bug so this was another reason for choosing them.I managed to pick up a set of brand new fog light surrounds on ebay so next thing is to get the lamps and fit them.

Hi

Great work you've done an amazing job, the front spoiler looks like it is meant to be there.

I agree with your wheel choice for cleaning, I had 5 spoke wheels on another car and I was able to wash the inside rim of the wheel as well as the calliper very easily.

I have BBS mesh wheels on my sons bug and similar local wheels on my bug and they are a pain wash.

Steve

front spoiler

I have just found a old thread on aerodinamics I think I will put a pic of my car on there .I would like some peoples views on the best way to dissperse air out under the car once its been through the front grill and through the rads.I do have a box section made up to cover the rads but I am sure that this could be better designed to creat downforce instead of lift and also channel air better under the floorpan.

Graham, this looks awesome And the garage in the picture looks very familiar. Perhaps I've picked some bits up from you in the past?...

How is that front bumper mounted, it looks great! Might be a nice solution for radiators at the front without eating into the bodywork.

More stats and spec on the car needed!

Not sure if you have had bits off me before mate I am in Surrey .Garage has been knocked down since pics where taken.

I will get some more pics of the bumper uploaded as soon as poss.I think I need to start a thread on how and whats been done to the car to keep you guys happy .I wasn't intending putting it on here until I was happy with how its turned out.The current engine is a 2 liter turbo subaru but its giving me major headaches due to the so-called specialist who fitted it.I cant say to much at this stage for legal reasons but lets just say Iv'e got the right hump about it at the moment.
