New-ish member with a question
Hi,
I've been reading these forums for a while, just never really posted. Now that I've found a decent 1302 base for my GL and am just about ready to start work on it, i decided i'd say hello. I was flipping through my old magazines, looking at other german look bugs and came accross a 1303 from belgium in volksworld a year or two ago (for those who get the mag, its the one used at the beginning of the classified adds, dark blue with bonnet straps at the front). Anyway, in the article i noticed that the fuel filler was relocated to the edge of the bonnet... they referred to it as a floating filler. I really like the idea of this and was wondering whether anyone knows how it was done? I've been discussing it with a mate and he reckons it's just concertina'd fuel hose. I'm not so sure... any other ideas? Cheers, Chris |
