finishing a polished porsche fan

Despite the clearcoat my fan continues to oxidise, I've been told that the only solutuion for this is to plate or powdercoat it. sobecause there are so few places around that can actually plate magnesium, powdercoating it is.

Eastwood has a product called "almost chrome" so I ordered the powdercoating setup and 2 lbs of almost chrome and 2 lbs of clearcoat. if it looks nice enough I may just do my phonedials in it as well.
seems a shape to cover up all the work I put into getting this thing so shiney, but if it turns out I'll be very happy.

oh ya I got a setup to do high temp coatings for my exhaustas well. let you know once its shown up and I got the fan done.

it would be a shame to powdercoat the fan. Can't you just spend an hour each week giving it a re-polish
