what am I doing wrong

I am trying to put my cylinders into the pistons and there is a little chamfer at the top of the cylinder that keeps catching the bottom oil ring spacer and no matter how tightly i fit the ring compressor into this chamfer, I can't get it to go in, have any of you had this and fixed this problem?
thanks
Scott

Are you trying to get your pistons in from the top? Try it from the bottom. I know there is a chamfer on the bottom, and that even helps with fitting the pistons. On the top of the cilinder is no real chamfer as far as I know. Anyway good luck and try not to break your rings! Hope to have helped you!

Cheers,

Richard

I had a little trouble with my type 4 pistons/cylinders. Be sure your ring compressor is very tight and tap the top to ensure it is square, keep trying without forcing it or you will break your rings.
