915 lubrication quantity

So as per the title I have a 915, I believe it's the all aluminium version and I've fitted it with a Quaiffe ATB differential.

I need to know how much oil I should be putting into it. In litres please, I think it's 2.4 or 2.6.

Here is the numbers:

I've bought 3 litres of Castrol B373 which is apparently a superdooder mineral based oil.

Thanks in advance

Hi

The info I have says 3 litres, if the trans has just been built they sometimes take a little extra.

Steve,

thanks very much for the info. I can't see the image at the minute (on my phone) But I'll ceck it out later on.

Quaiffe fitted the diff to the box but they didn't take the gear housing apart, they literally just replaced the diff. The whole box and diff has cost me £2k already and I can't justify a rebuild just yet

From memory I filled my old 915 until it was level with the fill hole on the side just like a VW trans...

Ok so I googled it and found this:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-quantity.html

I'll just stick my 3 litres in it or until it comes out the hole

Thanks
