Will they work?
Hi, I'm new to the German Look and have a question. I have a 57' bug on the stock pan. I have a chance to get a new set of Porsche 993 wheels(aftermarket). The wheels are 17"x7.5" with 205/40 front tires, and 215/50 rear tires. What would I have to do to use these on my car? Thanks for your help, Eric

As with most of the fitment questions, the main thing is usually offset. Someone on here knows what it should be, so do a search. But you have to figure out what the offset is on the wheels your looking at. Hopefully they are high and then you can just use spacers to set the wheels exactly where you want them under the fender. The tire sizes are perfect and will work great.

If you have stock brakes, you may want to upgrade those before installing the big wheels. They weigh a lot more than they look, and you may get a DECREASE in braking performance.
As far as fitting them, the front beam may need to be narrowed, or the front fenders widened a couple of inches, and wheel spacers used so the wheels won't hit the top shock bolts. The rears may just need spacers to keep the wheel rims from hitting the bump-stops
