To Steve C

Hello Steve,

I am doing a 930 installation in a 1303 currently and as the bellhousing is identical to g-50 I would like to ask you what have you done about the rear trans mounts ? The oem beetle does not fit and required major welding to flatten the area any idea ???

Rgds,
Jim Andritsakos

Hi,

if the bellhousing looks like the 915-bellhousing, then I can offer you the usage of my new laser cut steel traverse with 2 aluminium blocks that have the shape of the bellhousing. The traverse comes with 4 rubber blocks (2 for vertical movement and 2 for horizontal movement). Give me your mail-address and I´ll send you pictures of this part.

Hi

Im moving my motor forward 100 mm, so Im going to use the stock Subaru mounts and bolting them to a bracket on the frame horns. Im using the stock G50 front mount, a Berg style mount in the middle so that the box dosent drop down with the motor removed.

Progress has been a bit slow, doing lots of work around the house.

Hi

I've done as much as can on the pan for the time being, I'm getting the body ready for paint now, I only have tiny garage as we live on the edge of a cliff. I have to leave the body and pan together for as long as I can. When the body comes off I can get in and do some of the welding that still needs to be done in hard to get at places. The shift lever is in, I need to muck around with the shift rod when the body is off and I can pull the box in & out easily.

Thanks for asking, Steve
