I've only seen them made for the Bug/1302 (which you also have Steve). German Car Company had them, not sure where to get them now.

I've never seen those gas hood struts for a 1303, just Standard and 1302, so it would be nice if they do indeed make them.

Hi

The reason I want to get them is that the stock spring sometimes goes a bit wayward and this pops the circlip off the hinge and makes the whole thing fall down and crash into the body, not a good look.

I have the formula but Ive been too lazy to work it out. I need to measure the weight of a stock hood and then do some measurments of the pivot points. I will make it my mission before I go away on hols.

Struts

Anyone get anywhere with this yet?
I'm looking into fitting a pair to the family 1303LS Cab....
I'd be really good if there was a normal car which you could get these for... like a Ford Escort or somthing...

Jep Superman they make them (or Gerd Weiser did.. because Franky's and Gerd work often together)..

The one on the picture is one for a 1303.. .. they've another one for 1200/1300/1302.
