the 35et represents 35 mm offset from the center of the wheel

so lets say your wheel is 7" wide, the center is at 3.5".
if you add 35mm (about 1.5" approximately) to the 3.5" then you will have about 5" of backspacing.

so that means you will have 5" of your wheel going away from your fender and 2" of wheel going towards your fender lip.

if this is on a beetle you should have no problem using these wheels. I would recommend a 205/50/15 on a 7" rim, maybe 215's in the rear, but I wouldnt go any wider then that.

if this is a ghia or t3 you will probably need a 7" wheel with more backspacing then 5", more like 6" of backspacing (a wheel with a 52et - 55et)

I hope this helps

What wheels are these? Porsche never had a 35mm offset. Closest is 36mm. And usually, their 15" x 7" wheels have 23.3mm offset. It's the 6" ones that have 36mm.

will the 15x7 fit

About 15x7 porsche wheels...
will either offset 23 or 52 fit front and back without rubbing or tearing up the fender?

Will you be using stock brakes or 944 brakes? Stock items 23mm no problems. 944 brakes will widen the rear track. You will need the 52mm offset wheels then.

I will be converting front and back to 83 994 brakes, rear only hub/brake/caliper conversion (no trailing arms) front converted to 1303 with topline lowering strut (maxx too expensive).
Really, I thought only going to the turbo trailing arm increased width??????

so 944 conversion: 23 offset front, 52 rear??

To fit perfectly using STOCK fenders, the only conbination I've come arcoss so far is using 16" Boxster rims. They are 16' x 6" 50mm offset for the fronts and 16" x 7" 40mm offset for the rears and they fill out the fenders perfectly. I can snap a pic of my car if you are interested.

Hehe... And just a shameless plug. If you are interested in a set. I got a spare set you can have. Email me and I can walk you through the whole process. :D

15 inch audi wheels and the offset is 45 i aparently cant read. im using cb performance brakes in the front and stock drums in the rear. 45 rubs inner fender in the rear so i am getting wheel spacers.

How wide are the wheels? If they are 6", I don't think they'd rub. 7" maybe.... Coz I'm running 7" rear with offset 40mm.

7 or 7.5 i just ordered a set of 195's and hopfully i shouldnt have as much trouble.

195s will be a tad too skinny on 7" rims. And on 7.5" rims, it's literally stretching it! :)

I'd say 205 to be a good choice!

beachball6 April 11th 2003 19:23

checked 7 inches wide the 195's fit nice they are the avs 100 by yokohomo they r nice

They will fit, but it's stretching them a bit. When you coner, the contact patch will shift and the bead may seperate from the rim. Try play in your mind what happens to rim when a car takes a corner.

I don't know how to really explain it in words....

beachball6 April 14th 2003 20:18

understood, but i cant corner hard ne way the tire rubs inner suspension in rear :( but the tires hook up great i used to b able to chirp 3rd gear with 165 theese i get a tiny spin in 2nd.

SprintStar
thanks for the offer, but I am waiting on delivery of a set of 6&7x16 fuchs. I found a post here of super with this size, said it fit perfect...I guess we'll see. I still have to order the front lowering struts...might go with maxx in order to fit wheel. Would rather not.

Do let me know your findings. I tried fitting 15" x 6" and 15" x 7" Cookie Cutters with the same offset as the Fuchs you have, but they are way out of the fenders.

Let me know how you get around it... Thanks.
