Narrowed front beam sway bar

On my 63 bug I have narrowed my from beam ~1" either side. I have been told that I don't need a sway bar due to the increased strength of the torsion bars.... I'm not so sure.

Is anyone out there running a narrowed beam with a sway bar and if so where did they get it from. Thanks

Narrowed sway bars are available from CB Performance and aircooled.net...:agree:

Those are probably people who drive as if they have their grandmother in the car all the time.
The effect on body roll by chopping the beam that much is trivial. You still need a sway bar.

Whiteline also provide narrowed anti roll bars although they are special order.

See 'Loose the lean' in the Tech section.

My beam is narrowed by 2 1/2" and this roll bar firms up the front quite significantly, it's lowered a little and I'm currently running Red Koni's but as it is a little too firm, I'm going to try gas Spax. (when I can get the different lenghts from them between the G616 and G492)
