How to create your profile...

On the main page on the left side you will find a Submissions box. In it there is a "Members Profile" link.
Once you select that it will ask you for forum member ID and password. Only members of the forum are allowed to submit their ride.
Once you authenticated you are able to create your profile with details of your car. After that you are able to upload 4 pictures. Make sure that the pictures are at least 640x480 in size for the best quality. Pictures that are smaller will be cropped to that size decreasing the quality of the picture.

A thread for your ride will be automatically created in this forum.

If you have any questions about it please ask them in this thread.

its not working!!!!

Its not working for me!!!

Alex January 10th 2004 13:48

I think there is a problem with code using the database of the old forum to log in. I have to talk to Sandeep about this.

This might take a while.

Alex

Xzenor January 10th 2004 18:27

Avatar?

Cant edit avatar either!!

Alex January 10th 2004 22:08

The avatar needs to have a certain pixel size. What is the error message you are seeing?

Alex

Sandeep January 11th 2004 11:15

I'm looking at the code today ...

Sandeep

Xzenor January 11th 2004 17:20

No fault code....

Do you actually select the "Use custom avatar" dot?
If you use that the do not use avatar dot will go away. Works for me.

Alex

Xzenor January 11th 2004 17:48

Yes....

I dont Understand why it doesnt work for me. Ever since we got this new forum it hasnt worked for me. I even tried making a new user ID and password....same problem. I cant even get into "Member Profile" with my new one. I was able to with my old one......but not no more.

Alex January 11th 2004 22:01

The member profile on the main page does not work. The new forum uses different authentication encryption.

We still have to figure this out. Does the avatar now work?

Just be patient....no one can update their members ride at the moment.
We are working on it.

This section of the site is available again ... sorry for the delay. The colors throughout the whole site will be changed to match the forums so don't be alarmed when you look at a page and the colors are not correct.

Hope to have this fixed for Wednesday morning.

Hello,

Well, I thought it was time to put an avatar in my profile, but it doesn't work for me!
I don't even have a "use custom avatar" button! It sounds I've the same "problem" Xzenor mentioned. Maybe it's just me having my fingers in a cyberknot  !

Cheers,
Richard

Alex January 20th 2004 16:01

Click on "User CP" upper left corner. Go to "Edit Avatar" on the left menu bar.
Select "Use custom avatar" and upload you avatar from a web site or local hard drive.

Also in the "Edit Options" on the left menu bar of your User CP make sure that you have "Show Avatar" enabled.

Alex January 20th 2004 20:01

Thanks for the screenshot.....that helped a lot.

I apologize to all of you.....because of the upgrade new members did not have the permission to upload pics. It is fixed now and it should work.
Members who had an avatar prior to the upgrade did not have the problem.

Hello,
Well, I don't consider myself a new member, I just don't post a lot. It looks promising so I'll give it a try later today.
Thanks and I do understand that things can go wrong with an upgrade this "big".

Cheers,
Richard

Hebster52 April 25th 2006 07:41

Ok, I'm new here and just uploaded one of my cars in my profile. Is it possible to only upload one car/member?

The Heb I uploaded is the main project but I'm also working on a Ghia T-34 streetracer (or vintage German looker...) Would like to be able to upload both...

Wally June 16th 2006 10:16

How do you edit your 'members ride'?

skywalker June 20th 2006 15:33

Walter,

Go to http://www.germanlook.com/Html/Main.php

Click member profile (no 3 under Submissions on the left side) and log in with your nickname and password.

Now you can edit your profile.

Cheers,
Luuk ;)

Wally June 20th 2006 16:49

Thanks man!
Usually never visit the main page, hence the problem :o
Put a later pic extra to it and changed a few little things ;)

Thats what I get also! I tried 3 times and got tired of typing everything over again! Might it be a local browser setting? I'd like to get pics up here of my Super.

OldeFahrt October 19th 2006 15:16

I would like to edit/update my "member's rides" profile. How do I go about it?

This section of the site is working again but alot of the pictures in the database were corrupted. If you have a chance, please update your section on the main page, using this link http://www.germanlook.net/html/membersrides/login.php

For a refresher ....

On the main page on the left side you will find a Submissions box. In it there is a "Members Profile" link.
Once you select that it will ask you for forum member ID and password. Only members of the forum are allowed to submit their ride.
