Fifth studding hmm........I don't believe you will need to.

After all you're only at 94mm

Stock 71mm crank?
Anyway, the 48IDF's are too large in my book. 44's should be more than enough. Still, with a 71mm crank it would be an extreme revver. Not really a street motor I'd say but I realize there are many opinions on what street is.
Other than that, very high quality engine! Maybe it even has more goodies than needed? can't hurt tho,
Good luck,
Walter

your right in saying to much for a street engine.yes it is stock 71mm crank.this is going a striped out lightend race preped 1303 being built for hillclimbs, hence the stock 1971cc size so i can stay in a class that it might be competative.this car will also get used for single venue stage rallys which is the reason behind the belt and braces approche ie 5th head stud and 1/2"case bolts, this engine is going to see some serious abuse and must be able to rev.been told the power band is 3800 to 7400 and has about 165/170 bhp on 44idf's with 36mm chokes but could do with more carb to let it breath better.
this is a simelar engine to the one stateside tuning run in thare 914 circuit car.
now all i have to sort out is the gearbox/ratios!
cheers rob
