I have a 73 super beetle with stock drums. I just bought 17's off a 99' carerra, I need to know what brand/thickness/and where to get the adapters I need. I have 2.5" / 3" wider fenders keep in mind....

I found some Porsche spacers...a pair of 1" =$169 w/ hardware. or 2" for $200. What's the average machine shop price for re-drill? One dude on here said 50 bucks, and that sounds pretty nice.

I know about everyone with meatier wheels are usin spacers, but I've also been told they're hard on CV joints and using longer bolts, they'll break off easier; obviously its not too big of a problem...
