help! installed my new motor in the fall now it's seized
well i installed my new motor last fall and vowed to finish hooking up the wiring in the spring. well i went out to work on it and over the winter it seems the motor has seized.
is there anything thing i can do without having to pull the damn thing and rebuild it now? thanks in advance guys

Are you sure it's seized ?
Did you try to turn it over with the starter only ? Maybe the starter is bad ? Not sure how to un-seize it.. Maybe squirt some oil in the cylinders ? If it is a new motor I can't imagine it being seized very tight.... Just my 2 cts.. Rob. |

oh it's seized tight alright.
there was no exhaust on it and moisture went in through the open valves and now there's rust around 2 pistons. i tried even rolling it in 4th and it won't budge

I've heard some rumours about "Marvel Mystery Oil". You squirt it into the cylinder and let it marinate for a few days. Then try bumping it.

yeah i've had a few suggest marvel mystrey oil...
but i'm gonna do it right since it's a brand new motor. i think i'm gonna let the wife tease me while i do it, just to teach myself a lesson about procrastination.

well i used deisel.
there was only one rusted cylinder, and it was rusted on the bottom and top of the cylinder. anyways i honed the culinder cleaned up the rings and she just got put back in today. just need to do some finishing touches before starting her up. thanks for all the input guys. maybe id she runs again i won't want to sell her
