Hi Sprint.
Thanks for your response. Of course I'd like to help with machined parts. As far as the mods to the fenders I prefer to stay with the stock fenders as my car is all original was never welded or hit or overhauled. But it needs to be repainted soon. My intention is to keep the car as clean and stock looking as possible and just to refine it in those areas where the factory cut a few corners. Then who needs all disc brakes or sophisticated susp. with only 50 horses to play with. The way I see the German Look Beetle is, that the type 1 standart bodied sedan is more like an early 911 Porsche with its all torsion bar suspension, lighter weight and driving antiques. Not to forged the beautiful classic styling (for both the early 911 and the type 1 sedan). The 1303 Supers on the other hand are more like the later C2 series 911's with the technical improvements (and added weight unfortunately!). Add a coil susp. to the rear, 944 brakes alround and a powerful type 4 engine you end up with a C2 in Beetle terms. That's of course my way of looking to the GL Beetle theme. I would like to build my 1303 that way and add a 100 mm bore 76,4 stroke fuel injected type 4 engine (that would be a 2/3 scale 911 C2 engine displacement wise). My choice of wheels would be the 16 inch ''Baby'' Cup wheels. (I guess those 6 & 8 inch C2 wheels should fit under the stock fenders with the 944 binders) Than I would badge the car ''1303 C2/3''. Just for fun.
