That sounds just like my method of fitting the body back over the bare chassis & 'box.
See where it fouls, smack the 'shell with a lump hammer.
see where it still fouls smack it harder.
see where it still fouls, heat it to cherry red & smack it with a bigger hammer.
Technical innit?
Have you used the stock shifter? I've got a chunk of 914/4 floorpan let into the T1 spine with a 911 shifter attached. My friend Mark wants to use a 'standard' T shifter & I'd be interested how it works.
Also (loadsa questions!) how did you cope with modifying the shift rod, I was OK as I could remove the 'box with ease which was useful as I had 8 attempts at getting a smooth shift action & not foul the conduits in the spine.
