Dan,
Is it possible to expand on your photos a bit more to explain how you did it? I would also be interested in a parts list and approximate costs to complete the conversion if you'd be willing to provide it. I'm interested in the same setup for an early '60s beetle, but most of the people around here are doing the mods to their Supers. Thanks! and yes, would make a great tech article. . . .
