Panel, why did you make that little aluminium insert ? Is it for looks, or function ?

Function Rob, definately function. The NACAs wern't pulling enough air on their own to suit my need so I made those little "ears" to stick out and catch more air. They are as much as I could form with simple hand tools and a wooden buck before the aluminum started to tear. Turns out they are not enough and that's why I turned to Joe. Gonna get a lot more aggressive with the carbon pieces and solve this air problem once and for all....

Crap again, now it went from my 'nice to have' to my 'must have' list

Since I am planning on using the same ducts for my radiator.......

BTW panel, thanks for the research :agree:

Thumbs up

Definately let Joe know if this stuff interests you!
Let him know how you intend to fit it so he can decide how to set these up for universal fit. If it can be "cross marketed" to several uses, we all win!

Panelfantastic,
I received the box yesterday and started working on the pattern. I can sense your frustration with all the different sized ducts. Thanks for sending them, when I a chance I'll start on the mold for the single duct first. I'll keep you posted on the progress of the mold and the final part.

Thanks

Joe,
The only thing I'm in a crunch for is the scoop for my dual NACA ducts (the piece I tried to make a mold for). As far as re-making the single and double NACA ducts in carbon, that could be a winter project. I'm good with the plastic ones for now...
I actually need two of those scoops I was trying to make, one for each side. The scoops are gonna be a perfect companion piece for the NACAs when you start making those in carbon, you might even consider making it together like in this pic...look at the "vortex air duct" about mid page...

Thanks a million!
