correct. this obviously replaces the spring plate and the torsion bar is eliminated in the swap. the coilover you see in the shot is what takes all of the load now. really nice setup, but very pricey too.

Pure porn, thats what that is. Its a beatiful setup, and one I have dreamed of copying. Wouldn't be too difficult to make, but you need to find a threaded bearing that can take the stress and punishment..

Wow, Sick!!! But where do you get the coil over shock that matches a porsche 944 rear arm, and a bug top mount?? I'm also going watercooled, so I will need a slightly stiffer sping(??) |

You would probably have to research the shock by calling a couple of shock makers and telling them what you want. You would need to know how long the shock should be when compressed and the weight of the rear with engine installed. Also what ends you need or are willing to convert to (just because they don't make one with exactly the right ends doesn't mean you can't adapt) Look into the import scene to get some brand names and just call them up. All of my stuff is custom to my bus, the shocks would not work on stock arms because they are waaay to big in diameter, something else to consider when ordering.
