Dropping the rear

I just ordered some lowering struts for the front of my superbeetle. It is a 1972 with buggy coilovers in the rear which are set as low as theyll go. I was wondering if there is someway to lower the rear. I havent found any kits or anything for it yet ive still been seeing a whole lot of people with it done. Any help would be much appreciated.

Red 9 Design makes a spring plate kit for the back...I think it only drop 2" or so.

You can also turn the spring plate to lower the rear...though Ive heard you have a better chance at bottoming out that way...but I've never done it.

You can also get a set of adjustable spring plates as well...I cant remember off the top of my head where exactly to get them.

I hope that helps out some....I havent reached the suspension point yet...so those are the only options I can think of right now....Im sure there are some more out there!

Another thing that worked for me the first timew I did it was in the Haynes manual it shows you how to adjust the rear ride height. Be careful cause it is a little dangerous and make sure you have lots of patients cause you will probally have to do it more then once to get the right height.

Thanks alot for all the help. That was exactly what i needed. Also, i was thinking about the Uni ball setup, and it looks like a pretty sweet setup but i dont have near enough cash for it.. I was thinking about asking my boss, who is a very good fabricator, if he would be able to replicate it for me. Other than that, i think ill just have to end up sticking with the stock spring plates.
