A Sealed Beam HID upgrade kit should fit fine in a stock bucket. Mine fit fine in my 58 beetle. My HID bulbs sit in a little black box, that reflects off the back of the sealed unit, then through the front lens then my Bosch lenses. I'm lucky to get a kit that utilizes sealed beam technology. I couldn't imagine making my own out of projectors like some of the guys on here...good job :agree:

I had H4 HID converstion on my 1999 Galant attached are pics. I also asked the question Projector vs My regular headlight housing I was told by my sponser there is not much of a difference just the consentration of the beam is stronger for a projections housing. The benefits are still there for an HID regeardless of the housing.

Time to bring back a nice issue:
I just saw the pics of Hugo's beetle (yeah the one getting the rorty's chassis and v8 powerplant) and from what i saw he is running HIDs. If Im wrong correct me. I didnt want to ruin your thread so i believe that it would be nice if you could enlighten us a bit on this thread. Im asking this since you re the only one ive seen with HIDs in upright headlamps

Ive seen 7" HID replacement units for H2 Hummers. They are expensive but may work.

is that liquid acrylic you used to flatten the headlight surface and to mount the projector?
