I'm planning a very similar thing to your idea. I'll be running a 915 tranny with a subie and plan on moving the whole thing forward for better balance. I'll probably chop out the center of the torsion housing or fab up all new rear suspension. Probably going to run 930s as well just to play it safe.

I see the link gives info for max angle, but it seems to be on one plane. What happens when you run them at compound angles? IE tranny is forward 3" and up 2"?

Good deal, I was kind of nervous because I tried running a centered diff axle in my samurai (stock offset) and it vibrated like a mother..... Narrowed it up and made it offset and the vibration problem was gone.
