G50 was only on 87ish on 911s. Not sure if it came on the C2 at all?
Are you sure you are not thinking of the 901 tranny? Which came in 911s and 914s (tail or side shift). Also the 915 is a very strong tranny and has a standard pattern (the 901 is dogleged for 1st)... You would have to have a huge motor to hurt the 915.
