Yah, with the 944 single pots you need to run 15"+ wheels.
Sounds like a fun project though! Early cars with a little modern twist are sweet.

Nothing special, a complete set of brakes for a 944 font in a junk yard, I've refreshed the all batch and installed it, all the rear is a "plugg and play" , you just a have to modify the end of the kand brake cable, for the front, I'm machined a set of CB perf springles and the 944 and welded both together...
I drive that car since many year without any problems...

Hmm.. I'm running 4-pots with 6"x15" Fuchs! I only needed 6mm spacers
It fits like a glove... Even with a normal front beam.. Jesper 4pot-2.jpg brakes1.jpg Billede_012.jpg brakes3.jpg Last edited by Danborn; October 2nd 2006 at 03:33. |

944 Brakes
Hello
I have recently purchased a 1968 beetle cabrio and I am looking into installing 944 brakes. It sounds from the previous threads that single and four pot calipers are ok with 15 inch fuch alloys. Does anyone know if brakes from a 944 s will fit. These have abs fitted. Is it better to get the pre 87 brakes circa 1987. Thanks for your help. |

I want upgraded braking, but want to stick w/ 15" Fuchs (earlies). What parts did you use for everything? I would prefer to use new (if available) parts. Thanks!

The porsche has differant connecting end for the e-brake pad spreader arm(lack of a better word) then vw. 944 uses a pin/clip, vw uses a hook. Theres adapter arms that use vw cables (Lanner has them www.vdubengineering.com ), I cut mine the welded the porsche ones on the vw cable. (not the right way to do it, but it work... For now...)
