Questions about Pillows ride

I have started to gather parts for my `67 crewcab irs-conversion, but the number of different ways makes me confused...
But what I`d like to do is a DIY lowcost setup using mostly superbeetle parts. While using the search button on different forums your name came up several times. So could you share your experince with me for what to get and what to do? Fabricating parts myself is not a problem as I work as a mechanic.
