Hi

I had Aeros on my old 1302 and I will fit them on my 1303 that I'm building.

I have know way of doing aerodynamic testing, but from my the seat of the pants experience my 1302 was extremely stable at speeds up to 180 kph and was rock solid on the road at highway speeds even under windy conditions.

The early headlight used in them is much more aerodynamic than the vertical late headlight.

They have another advantage, the headlight is also mounted much higher than stock which makes for better headlight beam spread better and also gets around our local laws which have a minimum headlight centre height of 600 mm.

Steve-in case you hadn't realised-it was your Yellow beast that inspired my Oval-as well as my obsession with yellow cars.I found this pic taken B4 being painted-gives a good outline of the shape of the Aero's.I remember reading years ago about the theory behind the design-get the front down low to break up the airflow into the guard area and keep the wheels out level with the lip and it will stop the pressure build up inside the guard.I'm sure Big Al would get to 200kph plenty of times on the track, and with the rear spoiler makes the car stable.

Hi

I didn't know that, its very nice to know. Your car now has a personalty of its own now and will inspire others.

Originally my 1302 looked like this, the tail and the front air dam worked well together, in fact the car would get very squirrelly at high speeds without the tail fitted.

Did the stability change after the Aero's went on?

Hi

The car felt just as good with the aeros, the leading edge on the rear fenders may help as well, the would keep air from getting under the rear fenders.

I don't have good picture of this feature, does anyone else?
