I ground away just enough to clear, plus a couple of millimetres for wrench space. I decided not to cut thru on mine for fear of loosing the rigidity i might need for something in the future, like if I got stupid rich all of a sudden and decided to modify my car for coilovers.

I used a 3" wheel on a side grinder, an 80 grit cookie on a small sander, and a cut-off wheel on a die grinder.

Grind the webbing back about 4-5 mm, test-fit, then grind some more if necessary. Test-fit them with the control arms installed, and both of the spacer washers on the inner pivot bushing towards the outside. When the springplates are bolted to the control arms, they'll be pulled inward as far as they'll ever go and you'll have some rear camber and toe adjustment clearance.
