The CB front and rear disc set-ups will work fine for your ride. (they will help save some money for the RAT motor
 ) For a little better, go with 944 NA single pot brakes. Then better, wilwood calipers. Then 4 or 6 piston Brembo's. ($$$) As for "over doing it", there's no such thing in german look. (spending money on "overkill parts" anyway  )
