The Manxter normally takes a standard VW fuel tank - so this should work in a Beetle and possibly another fiberglass buggy design. Capacity is ~13gl. Said the cost was $620 (as shown). That's dirt cheap if you look at what Fuel Safe will charge! Jeff |

Thats crazy money. I'm just coming off a $1,800 to $2,000 upgrade on my 69 Type 1. I'll give a call to Fuel Safe just to see and keeping looking for alternatives. Hey there is always EBAY.

Uhhmmmmm..... that latter figure ought to be close to the cost of that Fuel Safe cell. Your only cheap alternative is the mass produced plastic and aluminum cells (no bladder - like the one I posted above). I believe only the smaller (5-8gl?) cells will fit in the VW tank hole.

I've been thinking about using a different tank, or at least a tank that's easy to remove, possibly with an in-tank fuel pump (running Subaru motor).
What is the capacity of a stock '70 standard beetle gas tank ? Anybody here has made changes to the tank setup / conenctions so it's easy to remove ? Thanks, Rob. |

...10.6 gallons U.S. (8.8 imperial gallons, or 40 liters)
