Thanks for the quick reply Alex. The hooks are readily available as a replacement part too? I was going to get a cable from Greg anyway last week, and forgot to remind him about it ...
I'll dig in to it tonight. Was hoping to be able to order something today to have on hand for the weekend. Maybe I should pop home at lunchtime to see if I can figure it out quickly. thx, Ed N. |

The hooks are readily available. But as with most stuff, quality is marginal. The main issues is both the cable eye, and the hook need to be de-burred extensively. Out of the package they are littered with sharp corners. Lightly radius all sharp edges or they will eat through each other in no time. Lots of grease doesn't hurt either. Grease the heck out of the cable before install, a few dabs on the hook and eye and it will be like butter!.
