Hi
I think at least you would need heavy duty mounts, a berg style mid mount and Kafer cup bars. The transmission depends on the nut behind the wheel. Check out http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com in the non VW engine conversions and also http://www.vwkd.co.uk/bb/ Steve

First of, when using a shortened sump on an EJ engine there won't be enough room for the stock Subaru engine mounts.
Second, I'd say the need to have "extra" mounts depends on the power of the engine you have. If you have a simple EJ20 it might work but for higher powered Subaru engines it might not. My EJ20TT for example, when the engine is mounted just like a normal Bug engine it moves to much when driving away from a stand stil. I've solved this by making 2 4mm think brackets that mount in place of the stock mounts and attach to the rear trans mount. I'll try to make some pics of it next week. |

I think that is only the case with the bug@5speed sump... RJES' and the small car sump are designed to use the subaru mounts and obviously most steel ones are bespoke to each application.
