It's funny how this thread has morphed from upright 911 shrouds to horizontal cooling, I guess you can thank the "Mythbuster", and wanting to put an intercooler into the engine bay for that
![]() Here's a couple more pictures I found while surfing, hope the owner of this setup does not mind, but it looks like the original 911 ring is being used. ![]() ![]() So who is volunteering to make the first prototype I'll make my drawings / files / templates available once my version has been built and tested. I'll be using the original 911 ring / alt that I have, only because I already have it.Sandeep |

horizontal cooling
Thanks Xellex for those pics. Pictures with measurments
I too will be using the 911 ring, (cause I have it) My tig welding skills will be put to the test. Sandeep I can't draw a stick man so I will make as I go. The one thing that puzzels me is the tighting of the belt. Some systems the idler rollers are on an angle others are straight? Anyway thanks for the updated info and pics.Dave

Here's a pic of the top left area of my ring .... it already has mounting holes (for the stock coil I will assume). This will make the fabrication of a rear mount trivial.
![]() The front mount / idler pulley mount will take more thought, as the angles of the pulleys are set by the diameter of the crank pulley, and the final location of the fan ring. I am using my FAT pulley as it has already has the 36-1 trigger wheel mounted for my ignition system. I'm going to mock things up with MDF wood and then have a chat with some machinists at our next club meeting. Sandeep |
