So, not much to report other than i now understand why people use trailer fenders when tubbing their buses. Its a ****load of work to make it look proper. We did manage to cut out the original rear hoop/brace and add our own frame brace. Now we are going to be working on the repositioning of the shock mounts for the rear. The picture im posting doesnt show the 3/16" brace that we made between the framehorns, but i assure you there is one there now.
![]() ive also decided on a color scheme for this project. It will be the original Velvet Green on the top, and Porsche slate gray metallic from the beltline down. Let me know what you think. ![]() im gonna be working on this again this sunday, so more pics to follow. |

You're going to run add-on rear 'skirts' like in the picture,
or run factory rear wheel openings? Seems like after taking all of the trouble to tub the rear, you would want to put the rear flares back to stock. And avoid the "Jersey look" cut rear wheelwells... ![]() JMHO... |

Update: since doing the front wheel tubs, I've had to notch the frame for the tie rods as it sits a good 1.5" lower. I've also picked up a T3 turbo for it. Can't wait till it cools down so I can get back out there.

Don't know why people would do that, some PO hacked my arches too. Had stock ones put back on as the bus is being painted. I'm running 16" MB CLK rims on mine, bus IRS swap with 2500lb. airbags in the rear. Clearance is pretty close on mine but what I do is jack the bus way up, pump up the bags a little which drops the arm down, and remove the wheel by rotating the lower part of the rim to the center of the bus until the top outer edge of the tire clears the apron then pull the whole thing out (hope this makes sense). It's tight but I am able to get it out. The face of the rim is exposed to the ground when you're doing this though.

Front tie rod notches are done. Going to start fabbing the Turbo header tomorrow. Any advice from you Turbo pros?
