Larger Torsion bars?
Hello,
I am building a 69 bug and I lowered the suspension. It looks great with 17 X 7 wheels and low profile tires but the stock torsion bars are so soft! Sway away makes larger torsion bars but I have never seen a vw with larger torsion bars so I don't know how large to go? I just want it to handle good and not pound the heck out of the bump stops. I have KYB GR2 shocks and a 3/4" sway bar front and rear. I was thinking that a 25mm bar would be good but does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |

Have you tried looking at Type 3 wagon torsion bars they are larger, as that is what I used in my 1302, I don't know what size they are for swing axle but the come in larger sizes for IRS.

I have just bought some 944 23.5mm torsion bars for £20. For that price I can afford to mess around with different torsion bar diameters until I find the correct ones for my application
