Obviously
I managed to find a set of 25.5mm torsion bars from a 944 M030, I hope they will be fine with the "heavy" type4 in the back. Berg-style mid mount: Would be better to put in front, but the previous owner used a similar mount, thus he has already changed the bolts to longer ones, but this way :-/ So I need the rubber mounts to be releasable otherwise tranny can't be taken out.

Installed the cup brace as well. 3 braces weight 1 kg together, while the 6 little ears weight nearly 2 kgs! Due to weight reduction and aestetichs the ears were cut a bit.
Fits nice with the Rancho:

However the Rancho unit is already machined to accept a bigger flywheel, the 228mm is still too big, so we had no choice...it is still not OK, when all the screws are tightened the engine won't turn around next time I'll figure it out.

Has any of you ever changed the pilot bearing in the type4 crankshaft to accept better the input shaft of the type1 tranny? It seems just too short for me..thanks

Hi
Just buy a new pilot bearing from any air cooled VW, there all the same size and have the flywheel centre turned to accept it. Steve

An other how to question, this time about the front oil cooler. Tubes will go under the chassis, but still not sure about the front area. I want to put them as high as possible without interfering with the suspension parts. Any ideas are welcome (picture worth more than thousand words). Thanks

Original Porsche fabric is $$$ and none of them is for my taste, but tons of other colors are available. Finally I chose the original "Royal tartan", this package arrived from the UK a few days ago. Can't wait to see it.
