Targa Newfoundland
I was watching Speed channel last night and saw coverage of the 2003 Targa Newfoundland. This is an all tarmac rally through 2000KM of Newfoundland over 6 days.
http://www.targanewfoundland.com/index.htm A GL Beetle would fit into the Classic Modified Specification category... looks like alot of fun. Might have to go and race one of these years because thats what I'm building my GL beetle for ! Sandeep |

Yeah that was some pretty cool shiznit ! It's hard to believe that people actually get out and drive (let alone race) such rare cars like that alfa romeo and austin-heley.Then it doesnt even really seem like they care afterwards. They get much respect from me for doing so. I was also thinking how fun a GL would be and was hoping to catch a peak of ANY kinda bug in the race but...none. Man that 280z hit that retaining wall HARD !

Yeah .. That Z needed some work after.
The 993 Biturbo lost a piston/ cylinder and not sure how the Viper did but it didn't win its class. I think the overall winner was the '67 ? Mustang Fastback from Australia. It was funny seeing the BMW M Coupe pass the viper .. not sure if the viper was having problems though. It was also funny that alot of the cars could buy a part at the local Canadian Tire along the way if they ever broke down. How would a 2513cc Type 4 with LN heads compare I wonder ?!? OH ya .. would have to keep it under 2500cc to stay in the 1601cc - 2500cc class ![]() Sandeep |
