944 rotor/cb dropped spindle interference

Hi everyone,

Has anyone performed the 944 brake conversion using CB dropped ball joint spindles and encountered interference between the back of the rotor and the spindle? Is it possible that the bearing conversion machining was machined too deep? If anyone people have encountered it, what was the remedy?

Thanks for all your help guys.

It could have been machined to deep.
I did the conversion with the specs in my artilcle on the main page. It did not hit the rotor but it was very close. You could get a spacer machined which will go on the spindle so that the bearing can not silde all the way to the back of it.

Who else has a suggestion?

Alex

First time I tried it I had the same problem, that's why I decided to go with the bearing/seal spacers and not machine the hub at all. Fit perfectly and I have the larger/stornger 944 bearings.
