Powder coating / crackle finish

I've had a few pieces powder coated in a smooth finish which look great but wondered if anyone has had anything crackle finished, like you get on the head cases of Ferraris etc
My powder coater is away so I don't if he can do it or if I should start looking else where.

Are these finishes a form of powder coating or more conventional spraying? and is crackle what's it's called or just what you see.
