Yes! Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

Soooo many questions about that burgundy/candy apple bug... but mostly, on the front susp pics, is that some sort of adjustable caster setup?? I'm looking at the pic that shows the rear side of the front susp and there is an adjustable rod tied to the beam and running rearward to the pan. Why would you need to dial in the caster often enough to have an elaborate setup like this?

Is it possible that what you were looking at was an over-engineered beam brace? They've also got simple clamp on formed tubing versions. EDIT- Uh yeah, that's what it is. It's supposed to keep the beam more rigid. They have MUCH simpler and lighter versions available, but no where NEAR the wow factor.

I think that there's probably a little more to it than your 'judgement' from a picture taken from under a car...
This guy does not do things for the wow factor. I thought a member of the 'GermanLook' forum above all would understand this.

11.6:1 that is rich even in a turbocar under boost

I have no time at all so I should probably just shut up

Yes, thanks for the confirmation; thats why I really need some programming and drive time to further adjust the fuel map. I forsee a 15,.. next time with this engine I strive for 12,5-12,8 for max power, but only the dyno (next week) will tell.

I could see wanting to add (or is negative take away?) a little caster for a track with more long straights than short curves, and vice versa for a short track with no straights, but this thing looks a little beyond even that explanation.
Make no mistake, I think the car is freakin' AWESOME! I just wanted to learn about some of the neat engineering. Not denying the guy is a fabrication master.

The above does not suggest at all that I know every intimate designing consideration that lead to the descision of making it the way it is .
I have seen the car in person and spoke with the guy in german for some time about his car.
Torsion bar front ends really do not interest me at all, so that was not my point of interest when we spoke about his car...
The whole car IS pure german-style, believe me at least on that one

Well, that car isn't so clean you could eat off it just to make it go faster! That's the wow factor. An adustable beam brace could be made up with a far less complicated contraption, but form does follow function and it actually looks better than it contributes to the increase in performance of the car, so I'd say that falls squarely in the "wow" catagory! And a good job he's done of it too, it's really beautiful. And yes, GermanLook is about function AND FORM, so he's pretty much got it covered in both departments.:agree:

For max power you should shoot for 13.6:1 On gas anyway!
