Had it verry verry bussy with school, so there was no time for my car. BUT this last weekend I finally worked at it.

Much grinding and welding and again changed my minds about some things. AT first welded some holes close in the pillars, channels and dashboard) (there's only an couple of meters left to do ).
Some pic of closed holes;

After that I also maked the choiche to ditch the 911-look dashboard (what I picked up two or three years ago for much money and long riding).
I'm now sticking with the original dashboard, only not as boring as the standard one (this is the nude starting).

Unfortunally this also means that I have to buy new gauges at this point .

And we also got further with the airscoop in the rearlid, we ordered some small stuff and by checking the fitting of the hoodlid it seems that there's something realy not straight . But we keep the welder warm and have the grinders ready to make it nice again.

Why stick to the stock dash? its abit of an ugly thing to me... if you already had the 911dash aswell?

Well, sometimes you just have to draw a line under a project. What would be nice to do, and you have the time/money to do are two different things. I found that one out the hard way..

I don't stick with the stock one, but use it as an basepanel for my custom dashboard. The 911-style dash, had an too bad shape that doesn't follow the windowrounding verry good. And it was too small. But the meanreason why I kicked it overboard is that I found the tellerhousing too wide. The tellers are almost over 60% off the dash. And that's too wide and ugly for this small bug.

I had it verry busy with school last weeks, hope to put some updates on soon.

Wiebrand

ANd yes I realy want to finish this project soon. But I ratter take some more time to do it good, than to finish it ****ty.

This is an update from wednesday from an week ago.
I had then finally some time to get something done. At first started with putting on the (i don't know how they're called in English) fast-clips?? on the engine lid. And I can say now; hinges are SOOOOO much easier on an round decklid It took me almost an hole day to get them straight and nice on the lid.
After I got started with making brackets for the removable rear valance.

This is how it looks now;

And another pic of the welding I more than 2 weeks ago.

(jep all the grey stuff and more is welded in.)

Greetings Wiebrand
